We know the secret of your success
Creating your third model in 3ds Max
You should create a third coca cola drinks model, perhaps based on one of their other brands. For example, the Dr Pepper cup is perfectly acceptable. However, you are not restricted to modelling the Dr Pepper Cup, you could try a more complicated geometry coca cola glass, coca cola bottle, etc. See Figure 83. If you decide not to do the Dr Pepper cup, I suggest you do not simply repeat the coca cola can geometry and then apply a Dr Pepper texture, etc. because the geometry would be the same. If you did, however, add more geometry, e.g. model the lid more carefully, or deformed the can in some way, this would be good. You could also choose to model another bottle with different geometry, or a coca cola glass, or see the image for the vintage Dr Pepper bottle. For example, this gives you the opportunity to demonstrate more modelling technique.

Figure 83: Examples of other drinks models
Using either of the methods previously described, or any other method, you should create a third drinks model. You should end up with something like that illustrated in Figure 84 depending on the reference image, textures and style of 3D model you choose to create.
Undergraduates should take care to save your final models, because you will use them in your Assignment Part 1 — see the marking specification on Study Direct.
A note for Undergraduates on the marking scheme for Part 1 of the Assignment:
You Assignment Part 1 marks are broken up into 2 parts 50% for the ‘3d App Page Design’ and 50% for the ‘Quality of your 3D Models’. In particular, your 3D models will be assessed against the following criteria:
So, the third assessment elements of the ‘Quality of your 3D Models’ element, i.e. ‘Going beyond the lab tutorials’ could be demonstrated in the Sprite bottle, but could also be demonstrated in the third model — reusing the coke can and re-texturing with a Dr Pepper label does not demonstrate ‘going beyond’. Tip! Don’t be shy about making it explicit in the ‘3D App’ what you have done that you feel is ‘going beyond’. For example, in the associated text description for the Sprite bottle, you may say something like ‘the bottle top thread used the ‘Sweep modifier …’, but then it may also be super obvious because you may have created an animation showing the top unscrewing revealing the thread. This is just an example for consideration.
